Dan Markley - Executive Director & Producer
Dan Markley has been a theatre producer, manager, owner and investor for 25 years in New York City. On and Off Broadway he co-produced Oleanna, Stomp (Obie & Drama Desk Awards), Damn Yankees (Tony & Drama Desk nominations), On the Waterfront, The Vagina Monologues, Lifegame, Shockheaded Peter, Irving Berlin's White Christmas, High Fidelity, Family Secrets (revival) and Something Rotten! (Tony and Drama Desk nominations). He also co-produced the feature film Jeffrey and a feature length documentary about D-Day entitled Bedford: The Town They Left Behind. He recently provided consulting services for theater design, management, and programming for both the Dreamland Film and Performing Arts Center and the White Heron Theatre on Nantucket.
Earlier in his career, he served a presidential appointment as Director of Entertainment for the 1990 G-7 Economic Summit of Industrialized Nations. Prior to that appointment he served five years as Producer of USO Celebrity Entertainment, traveling the world from 1985-90. He lectures frequently at major colleges and industry seminars, and serves the company boards of Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre and the Nantucket Dreamland Foundation. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Florida State University School of Theatre.
Rachel Sussman - Director of Programming & Artist Services
Rachel Sussman is a New York-based creative producer and a co-founder of The MITTEN Lab, an emerging artist residency in her native Michigan. Rachel has previously worked with such companies as Second Stage Theatre, 321 Theatrical Management, RKO Stage, The Sundance Institute Theater Lab, and CREATE-Ireland in Dublin, Ireland. Recent producing credits include The Woodsman (59E59/New World Stages), The Rug Dealer (WP's Pipeline Festival, 2016 Kilroys List), and Don’t You F**king Say a Word (59E59).
Rachel was a 2014-2016 Women's Project Lab Time Warner Foundation Fellow and sits on Artistic Advisory Boards for Strangemen & Co. and The Musical Theatre Factory. Liz Ulmer - Managing Director
GM credits include Real Men: the Musical (New World Stages), Wing-Man (Ars Nova), and Independents (Soho Playhouse). She company managed with Davenport Theatrical (Clinton the Musical) and DR Theatrical Management (Tail! Spin! and Stalking the Bogeyman). Prior to becoming the Festival GM, her NYMF GM credits included Academia Nuts, Date of a Lifetime, Flambé Dreams, the trapeze musical The Awakening of Angel DeLuna, and I Got Fired: the Revenge Musical, which she subsequently co-produced in Daegu, South Korea. Her charity concerts have benefited Artists Striving to End Poverty and the Human Rights Campaign, among others. Member, Off-Broadway League. Graduate, Ithaca College.
Lianne Kennedy - Director of Marketing
Lianne is a Scottish NYC-based theater marketer, administrator and producer. In Scotland, Lianne worked at the Royal Lyceum Theatre Company as Marketing Officer, before taking on the role of Production Administrator. Lianne produced the Fringe First Award-winning physical theater piece, Sanitise by Melanie Jordan & Caitlin Skinner, during the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2014 and subsequent Scottish tour, as well as theater project, Scrapyard, and has also worked with the Edinburgh International Festival and The Traverse Theatre. In NYC, Lianne recently produced The Dudleys! A Family Game (NYC Premiere, HERE) in October 2016, and has also worked with Brooklyn based theater company, Letter of Marque. Lianne received an MA in Arts and Cultural Management from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh and a Bsc from St Andrews University.
Beatriz Westby - Associate General Manager
Before moving to New York City, Beatriz was an Event Producer and Associate VP/CEO at a Marketing and Advertising agency in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In New York, Beatriz has worked as an event planner and producer at Launchpad in Brooklyn; For 3 years she was the Associate General Manager at Brierpatch Productions, and prior to joining the NYMF team she was the Company Manager of Fuerza Bruta at the Daryl Roth Theatre.
Laura Kay - Associate General Manager
Laura Kay is a graduate of the Actors Studio Drama School, where she earned her MFA in Acting. Since moving to New York, she has dedicated her time to a variety of theatrical pursuits - both onstage and behind the scenes. She most recently served as the Company Manager for Pip's Island, a brand-new immersive experience in NYC, and has worked Front of House positions for NYMF and Signature Theatre.
