GAME STRUCTURE
MAIN STAGE FREE- FOR- ALL:
Players can sign up to play for $5. Sign up will occur at the event. Players will sign up for individual turns, requesting two potential song and character choices before they take the stage. Playing order will be on a first- come, first- serve basis. Players who wish to compete against each other may indicate that when they sign up.

There is no limit to the number of turns a player may take, provided that s/he has paid for all turns. Also, none of the turns may be done in a row. The only exception to this rule is if the player purchases a "do-over."

If the player wants a "do-over" after his/ her turn, $20 buy backs will be permitted once per turn. This only applies if s/he exceeds an 80% note accuracy. Buy backs must be claimed immediately at the end of the contestant's turn. If the tournament length becomes excessive or time constraints become an issue, NYMF may choose to revoke the "do- over" policy.

All songs will be played on "Hard" unless the player requests a different level. Competing at other levels will incur penalties. Please see scoring section below for more details.

Trash talking of opponents is encouraged, though physical trashing of the venue is not.

CELEBRITY MINI- TOURNAMENT:
The Celebrity Mini-Tournament will consist of 3 rounds slotted in throughout the evening:

  • Round 1 (2 games) - Celebs will play "Hit me With Your Best Shot," in randomly assigned pairs.
  • Round 2 (3 games) - Bottom scoring celebrity will be elimiated from play. Remaining 3 celebs will play each other on a song of their choosing.
  • Finals (1 game) - Top scoring celebs from Round 2 will compete against each other in a song determined by NYMF.

SCORING
Scores will be based on each player's individual Guitar Hero game score, played at the "Hard" level. If a player chooses to play at a different level, the following rules apply:

  • Easy - 200 points will be deducted from the final score.
  • Medium - 50 points will be deducted from player's final score
  • Expert - 100 points will be added to the player's final score.

The emcee may award additional style points based on audience reaction. Due to logistics, Rock God Players are only eligible for style points during their main stage games.

If a player has more than one turn, his/her highest score of the evening will be considered as the qualifying score for the final judging.

The top scoring player of the night will win a fantastic prize package and Broadway Guitar Hero Bragging Rights!

RAFFLING
Everyone who pays $5 to play will be automatically entered into a raffle, with drawings occuring throughout the night to play against celebrities. Drawings for random prizes will also occur!

Fans can bet on their favorite celebrity to win the Celebrity Mini-Tournament by entering the Celebrity 50/50 Lottery. Tickets for the lottery will be on sale for $10 throughout the evening up until the start of the Celebrity Mini-Tournament. Participants who purchase a ticket will place their names in an individual container dedicated to the celebrity player of their choice. After the Celebrity Mini-Tournament champion is named, a name will be drawn from that celebrity's container. That person will receive half the money collected from the sale of all the 50/50 tickets!
